Harrods Home Magazine

Saturday, October 6th, 2012

I have been really really lucky to be able to work with many fabulous photographers, sometimes I look at my photos and videos and I think ‘wow’.

This post is no different.  A few months ago I got to work with a fabulous photographer called Andy Bates.  It was for a shoot for Harrods Interiors Magazine.  I got to handstand on some very expensive chairs!  It was an extremely fun shoot and a pleasure to work with Lisa Bonnici and her team.

Here are the resulting pictures below the front cover, published in the October issue of Harrods Interiors Magazine (Out Now!).  I have scanned them in as I have only so far been sent a copy of the magazine, the pages are bigger than my little scanner.

Remembering my beginnings

Thursday, October 4th, 2012

Something I always respect and appreciate is my beginnings, the people who helped me and believed in me when I was a little lost girl living in Leeds with no idea about my career.  The people who answered my questions, gave me my first opportunities, helped me to see that performing was a choice i could do and make a career and be successful at.After my success as a competitive gymnast, then I began at Greentop, a circus school in Sheffield.  I went to their aerial evening classes.  From that I performed in a few cabarets.  From that I performed with Urban Angels Circus.  Before moving to Bristol.  The people I met at the beginning of the journey up north, I remember them all, I don’t necessarily keep in contact, but I still remember them.  Without them I would not be where I am today.

In November I am delighted to be able to help out one of the people I remember from my Greentop days with a fashion show she is putting on at an event in Birmingham.  She is somebody who I remember as being encouraging and said nice positive things to me when I was training and performing in my early days.  She contacted me unsure of if I would say yes, but I remember my roots and beginnings and so I said yes.

One of the reasons I am writing this as a blog post is because I am increasingly frustrated with those in life who do not give back to people who have helped them along the way.  People who just take and do not give anything back.  You should never ever forget people who were once there for you, (unless of course they then do bad things to you in which case you should erase them from your life forever!).
